About
Hetong Zhang / 张鹤同 is a Beijing-based filmmaker and interactive media creator. His short Van Pianist / 路上钢琴师 (2025) was selected for the Royal Anthropological Institute’s RAI Film Festival (UK) and received the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary Short at the Edmonton International Film Festival (Canada). His earlier work includes The Door / 门内门外 (2021), and he continues to develop projects at the intersection of cinema and interactive media.

After losing his father and newborn son in 2020, Wuhan resident Haitao Peng began practicing piano. In 2022, he loaded a piano into a van and played across the city. The film follows his journey through grief and music as China ends its nearly three-year COVID-19 controls.
2020年，彭海涛先后失去了父亲和新生的儿子。他开始学习钢琴，并在两年后，将钢琴装进房车，到武汉的街头演奏。这场原本属于私人的哀悼，在往后的日子里逐渐有了不同的意义。
